Babykisses2007

EDD: October 1, 2007 (It's a BOY!)

My name is Eliza (or nickname Liz). I am 29 years old. My DH, Nate, is 33. I live in Los Angeles and have for the past 5 years. DH and I are both Maine natives and we're moving back there in June to be near our families. We literally grew up down the street from each other, but didn't meet until I was in high school and he was in college. We were introduced by my best friend whose name is (I'm not joking) destiny. I had a huge crush on him, but we were never in the same place at the same time so we never dated. Fast forward to 6 years ago -- he came to visit me when I was living in Boston. I hadn't seen him in a while. We fell in love immediately! and from that moment on I have known that he is the one. A year later I moved to Los Angeles to be with him. We were married four years later in July 2006, so we've been married almost a year. And now we both can't wait to be parents!!! I think DH will be a fabulous dad because he is really funny and laid back and kids love him (he's a high school teacher). I currently work as a lawyer at a large law firm in Los Angeles, but my career is in transition. I'm going to take some time off to be a SAHM for about a year, and when I go back to work I'd like to work at a small firm and/or change practice areas. I love yoga, traveling, the boston red sox, and doing pretty much anything outside (hiking, swimming, etc).

Liz's Belly Shots!! 14 weeks and 17 weeks. WHAT a change!! Look at that cute belly!!!

SuzyQ524

My name is Susan, I am 34 years old and my DH, Dan, is 31. I am a Minnesota native (my family is from here) and my husband is an Illinois native. We both came to Kansas in 1993 for school (University of Kansas) and stayed. Although we were at school at the same time, we did not meet until seven years ago in March on a blind date arranged through a mutual friend. Ironically, he met the friend through grad school at KU – so the connection is still there. It just took a few years longer for us to meet. Our first date was incredible and he has been my best friend ever since. We will be married four years in May.
I am a writer/editor, and he is an architect. We live in Olathe, Kansas, which is a medium-sized suburb of Kansas City. We weren’t sure if we could even get pregnant. I have a history of severe endometriosis and found out after surgery last spring that I have one blocked tube. We were told by the specialist we saw that I had a slim chance of getting pregnant naturally. We gave ourselves a year and had planned to return to see him in May to discuss our further options. So, you can imagine our surprise when we found out in February I was expecting. Our LO, who is truly a blessing, has an EDD of October 25. He or she (we plan to find out) will be joining our two furry babies – Jordan, a 6-year-old female black lab, and Taz, a 4-year-old male tabby cat. We are a little nervous, but very excited to become first-time parents.

Ham2007

My name is Kelli (ham2007 on babycenter). I am 21 years old and will be until after the LO is born. I have the most amazing DH, Matt, who is 21 as well. We will be celebrating our first anniversary this July. We have been together as a couple for going on 4 years but have known each other since grade school. Our mothers did bible study together and we went to church together. We live in Houston, TX.
We have sweet little canine baby, Jessie. We are super excited about our Brooke Lynn (we are hoping for a girl), who will be here around October 27.
I was told my senior year of high school that I have hormone deficiency and that I was going to have to take shots every night when we were ready for kids. As I am sure you can imagine, we were very pleasantly suprised when God revealed his plan for us was different than the doctors plan. We are a little nervous but overall very happy. This will be the second grandchild on both sides (my older sister is having her first in July). I was so happy to find such an involved group of ladies on the first time mommies board.

So glad to have you join our blog, Kelli! What a hectic summer you will have! Sister's baby, your 1st anniversary, your baby shower(s), and then BOOM Baby. :-)

I had to put up your 12 week belly pic to show the difference. Are you sure you aren't having twins?!?! :-)
Your belly is so super cute! Isn't it so wonderful to have a baby belly and finally be showing the world outside how you've felt for weeks inside?

Shannon405

My name is Shannon and I will be 32 when the baby is born (October 6th!) and DH will be 38. We currently live in a suburb of Raleigh, NC. We meet in December 2004, and got married in June 2006, and started TTC in January. We had expected it to be at least 6 months to a year before we were able to conceive so having such good luck so early on has made things seem very surreal for us.
Just the past weekend, I officially entered into my 2nd trimester and we hope to find out if the baby is a boy or girl on 5/14!
I have a 15-year old brother and sister (fraternal twins--invitro babies) so I was lucky enough to be able to long ago experience the amazing feeling of watching a child grow and being part of that process. It's hard to believe that they have grown so fast into the adults they are now becoming.
This will be the first grandchild for my mom and step-father and the first grandchild in 16 years for DH's parents.
I plan to be a SAHM for a while. Not sure how long I will be able to be one and what it will be like but I am looking forward to growing as a mom and a person.
I have had Type 1 diabetes for over 20 years, so I fear causing the baby any distress if my health and blood sugars are not where they need to be, so I am working really hard to keep myself healthy now, and hope that being a SAHM will also contribute to this goal.
Looking forward to being on this journey with everyone!

Shannon, welcome! Your picture is so cute! Look at that popping out belly! I have a friend with Type 1 diabetes and it takes a lot of personal stregth and will power to keep it under control every day, let alone when you are pregnant! Good luck!

Nursery Ideas

Some people have requested nursery ideas. I have some from my internet surfing....so here ya go! ENJOY! Hope you get some great inspiration from these. :-)

Ambrav00

My name is Amber (ambrav00) I'm 28, will be 29 when baby is born and DH is 29. We've been married 5 years Oct 18th and I am due Oct 10th. We've been together almost 8years. We met in college at Washington State our sophmore year but didn't get together until our senior year. We were married almost 3 years later in Maui.

I currently work in sales for a metal company (very uninteresting) and cannot wait to be a SAHM. James sells radio advertising and has his own company selling credit card payment systems which he hopes to do full time in Oct....talk about a scary time to switch jobs!

We have had so much fun over the last couple of years with vacations and such but decided we were ready to share our time and are so excited about this baby. It will be the 1st grandchild for his family and the first in mine since my only nephew who is 15 so everyone is very excited.

Congrats!! You are past the 12 week mark now! Feeling better? I hope so. SAHM sound so nice, I hope DH and I can eventually work that out too.

MRSSLV

Hi!
My name is Shannon Valdez and I am 31 years old. My husband and I will be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary in May and have been together for 5 years in August (where did the time go?) He and I officially met when he was dating a friend of mine. Over the course of the next few years they split up and when he needed a place to live and she needed a roommate, fate jumped in. He and I have been together ever since, with her blessing of course.

Our due date is Oct. 29. Because of a miscarriage last year, I have had an u/s almost every week since I was 5 weeks. It has been quite the adventure already!! I was put on bedrest at 8 weeks because of spotting and after an appt on the 4th I was given the green light to go back to work on the 16th. The u/s was amazing!! I got to see the baby "dancing" to his own heartbeat, moving the legs and arms!! Thank goodness the baby has my rhythm!!

Shannon~ I am so glad to hear you were given the okay to go back to work. I know you are ready to leave the house and daytime TV.
:-)

babymek

Hi, my name is Natalie ("babymek" on BabyCenter). I am 29 years old and live in Los Angeles with my husband. We have only been married for a year and a half, though we were high school sweethearts. This is our first pregnancy and the first grandchild for both sides, so everyone is very excited.
I work for a public accounting firm but share the same feelings as KimmaryM about my career (I always dreamt of being a graphic designer - go figure!) I am so happy to have found you all and look forward to more blogging! :)
Here's is one of our engagement pics and my 12 week belly pic.
Natalie~ So cute!! Look at the little belly! Are you starting to feel 'pregnant'? I am so glad to have another belly picture to post. I think this is such an amazing time in a woman's life and should be embraced to the fullest!
Also, I am surprised by the number of HS sweethearts in new Oct mommies. The last three posts have been HS couples, as are my DH and I. I love to see these early relationships can survive, beat the odds, and honestly be true love (even if our parents didn't think so) :-)

Alwoods2

My name is Allison, I am 21 years old. My husband is 22, and we have been married for two years. We currently live in Memphis,TN. A lot of people think that we are way too young to be married, much less having babies. We have been together for almost 7 years now, so I couldn't imagine it any other way. Well, we have been together for 6 and 1/2 yrs-technically. We seperated for almost six months during 2004 and that produced my now 22 month old step-daughter. We got married a month before she was born, so I have been her step-mother since birth. Skylar is amazing...lets just say her mother is not always so great. We are super excited about this pregnancy!! Our due date is 10/05. My husband wants aboy, but I just want a healthy baby. I started out the pregnancy in a bad way, but it's getting better. I have a chronic problem that I have to take medicine for everyday. So, my biggest fear is that it is affecting the baby. I pray every night that God will give us a happy, healthy baby. I am in Nursing school at the moment, but I recently decided to take a break until the baby is born. So, for now I am just a stay at home pregnant wife! :-)

Karolyn6

My name is Karolyn. My babycenter name is karolyn6(pretty simple). I have been married to my wonderful husband, Tony, almost 2 years now. I am 21 and he is 24. We have been together for almost 6 years now and have wanted a baby for at least 4 :)
We are due 10/03/07. We just bought a new house 2 weeks ago and moved in last week, so we have been exceptionally busy. We are still living out of boxes at the current moment :(
We reside in Wisconsin (close tothe Minnesota border). My husband is a plumber for the family business and is scheduled to take his journeyman test this May. I am a transcriptionist for a local hospital and work from home. We have 2 cats (Joey and Cassie) and a dog (Nitro). We live close to my 2 older sisters and parents and his 1 sister, 1 brother, and parents. His other sister is a ways away at college, but will hopefully be moving closer to home when she finishes in 2 years (yeah . . . his youngest sister is the same age as me). Anyway...this is our first pregnancy and first baby. We are very excited and expecting a boy (at least so says all the old wives tales). Congrats to all!!
