SuzyQ524

My name is Susan, I am 34 years old and my DH, Dan, is 31. I am a Minnesota native (my family is from here) and my husband is an Illinois native. We both came to Kansas in 1993 for school (University of Kansas) and stayed. Although we were at school at the same time, we did not meet until seven years ago in March on a blind date arranged through a mutual friend. Ironically, he met the friend through grad school at KU – so the connection is still there. It just took a few years longer for us to meet. Our first date was incredible and he has been my best friend ever since. We will be married four years in May.
I am a writer/editor, and he is an architect. We live in Olathe, Kansas, which is a medium-sized suburb of Kansas City. We weren’t sure if we could even get pregnant. I have a history of severe endometriosis and found out after surgery last spring that I have one blocked tube. We were told by the specialist we saw that I had a slim chance of getting pregnant naturally. We gave ourselves a year and had planned to return to see him in May to discuss our further options. So, you can imagine our surprise when we found out in February I was expecting. Our LO, who is truly a blessing, has an EDD of October 25. He or she (we plan to find out) will be joining our two furry babies – Jordan, a 6-year-old female black lab, and Taz, a 4-year-old male tabby cat. We are a little nervous, but very excited to become first-time parents.
